Traditionally made: Cold process soap is a time-tested method of soap making that combines oil or fat and sodium hydroxide lye at room temperature. Cold-pressed soap is known for its rich lather, creamy texture, and silky smoothness.

Eco-conscious: Our soaps are wrapped in a biodegradable shrink wrap and with 100% recycled paper label. Paper box package is recyclable. Please check with your local recycling provider on how/where to recycle the clear plastic box package.

Packaging note: We shrink wrap each soap bar individually because it can help keep the oils and fragrance intact. Each soap bar has an intentionally small hole(s) in the shrink wrap to allow it to breathe. This small hole lets the soap continue to cure and harden, which helps your soap bar last longer.

How to use: Dampen skin and soap bar with warm water. Rub the soap between your hands, loofah, or washcloth until foamy lather appears. Scrub gently in circular motions. Rinse thoroughly to remove any soap residue. Then pat skin dry.

Tips to help your soap last longer once opened: Keep the soap dry between uses. Use a soap dish with drainage to allow excess water to escape. You can also pat dry the recently used bar with a paper towel to remove excess water. Avoid airtight containers, as they can trap moisture and promote the growth of bacteria. To further facilitate air circulation and prevent the soap from sitting in residual water, consider elevating the soap dish or just the soap lying in the dish.

How to properly store new, unopened soap: To avoid adverse changes to the color, texture, and even the properties of your soap, keep soap in a cool, dry, dark place away from direct heat or sunlight (for example in a drawer or linen closet.) Our handmade soaps are high in plant-based oils and butters; exposure to heat, humidity, and light can increase the risk of rancidity and oxidation. Hot temperatures can also cause soap to smell like rancid oils, and humid areas can make soap lose its scent and prevent it from evaporating water. Avoid storing in rooms with temperature fluctuations such as a garage, or near radiators, heating vents, or window sills.

How to store soap long term: Although there is no set shelf life for handcraft soap, handmade soap bars without preservatives can be prone to spoilage. They tend to expire more quickly than commercial soaps because they contain fresh ingredients and fewer preservatives. For best results, we recommend using our handcrafted soap shortly after receiving it.
